The Irish Terrier Club of Chicago  assumes no responsibility for the quality, health, or temperament of any dog, nor the warranty, guarantee, integrity, honesty or reliability, expressed or implied, by any person whose name appears on this list. All such warranties, guarantees and promises are between buyers and sellers.

Breeder Code of Ethics

 

• Breeder will study, learn and breed only according to the AKC approved breed standard for the AKC Irish Terrier.

• Breeder will promote only the AKC approved Irish Terrier standard for the AKC Irish Terrier.

• Breeder will carefully and thoughtfully, sell their puppies to proper homes.

• Breeder must be willing to be a mentor and advisor for anyone who buys a puppy from them. They must also be willing to take a puppy back at any age.

• Breeder will provide a written contract, along with AKC registration papers or other AKC approved registry with each puppy sold.

• It is recommended that all puppies sold as pets be place on a “Limited Registration.”

• As an ethical breeder, all known genetic problems in the lines sold to new home will be disclosed.

• Breeder will not engage in whole selling of litters or individuals to any pet store or commercial establishment. No puppies shall be donated to raffles or auction or given away as prizes.
