ITCC Club Fun Day on September 12, 2026, was a great success! We enjoyed wonderful weather and had a fantastic spot to set up pop-up tents to view the dog runs—even if we had to share the area with a few wasps.

It was fun cheering on our Irish Terriers. Members had six dogs entered for the trial (seven if Jan’s Poodle, Abby, is included), and four dogs got to participate in the lunch fun run. After the runs, we took a break for lunch and held a grooming demonstration. Many thanks to Susan Bednar and Mary Best for sharing their collective knowledge!

So many different breeds participate in FastCAT. We watched runs ranging from Chinese Cresteds and Labradors to Afghan Hounds and Sloughis. Of course, our Irish were our favorites. FastCAT trials have a relaxed vibe that’s focused on watching dogs have fun. If you are looking to get into a dog sport, give it a try—it is not too late in the season. You can find upcoming trials on the AKC website or at TallyHoEvents.com.

In total, we had 13 members and three guests in attendance. ITCC members were:

• Sheila Doran with Maui and Brenna

• Susan Bednar with Cricket

• Sharon & Bob Lindgren with DeeDee

• John Newhauser and his Russell puppies

• Mary Best

• Lindsey & Christopher Newhauser with Rye and Sage

• Kevin McHugh with Bonnie

• Kevin Mines and Jamison

Our visitors were:

Thank you to everyone who pitched in to clean up and pack up.
